Dulles was born in 1893 in Watertown, New York. He was the son of a Presbyterian minister and a descendant of John Foster Dulles, the US Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Dulles graduated from Princeton University in 1914 and then served in the US Army during World War I.

After the war, Dulles joined the US diplomatic service. He served in various posts around the world, including Berlin, Vienna, and Istanbul. In 1942, he was recruited by the Office of Strategic Services (OSS),the forerunner of the CIA. Dulles was tasked with creating and leading the OSS's secret intelligence network in Europe.

Dulles's network played a vital role in the Allied victory in World War II. His agents provided the Allies with valuable intelligence on German military plans and movements. They also helped to organize resistance movements in occupied countries. Dulles's network was so successful that it was credited with shortening the war by at least six months.

After the war, Dulles continued to serve in the US government. He was the director of the CIA from 1953 to 1961. During his tenure, he oversaw the CIA's involvement in the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban Missile Crisis. Dulles died in 1969.

Dulles's story is a remarkable one. He was a brilliant spymaster who played a vital role in the Allied victory in World War II. His story is an inspiration to all who believe in the power of intelligence and the importance of fighting for freedom.
