Author Biography
John Grisham is an American lawyer and author. He is best known for his legal thrillers, which have sold more than 300 million copies worldwide. Grisham's books have been translated into more than 40 languages, and many of them have been adapted into films.
Grisham was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas, in 1955. He graduated from Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi School of Law. After working as a lawyer for several years, Grisham published his first novel, A Time to Kill, in 1989. The novel was a critical and commercial success, and it launched Grisham's career as a full-time writer.
Grisham has written more than 30 novels, including The Firm, The Pelican Brief, The Client, and The Broker. His books have been adapted into several films, including The Firm, The Pelican Brief, The Client, and The Rainmaker.
Grisham is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Civil Liberties Union. He is also a trustee of the Grisham Legal Education Fund, which provides scholarships to law students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
