About the Author
Edward Bunker was born in Los Angeles in 1933. He spent most of his life in prison, where he began writing. His first novel, No Beast So Fierce, was published in 1973. The History of Violence was published in 1997, and it was adapted into a film in 2005.
Bunker died in 2005 at the age of 71. He is considered one of the most important writers of the 20th century.
